Building Information Modelling

As Smarter Building solution providers Redstone incorporates the BIM process and the collaborative approach to construction and lifecycle management - benefiting our clients and supply chain.

How We Work

Building Information Modelling (BIM) process is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle; defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition. It is an holistic approach to the design, construction and management of the facilities used in the built environment and involves much more than simply implementing new software, but a different way of thinking. The BIM process involves building a digital prototype of the model and simulating it in a digital world. At Redstone we have embraced the construction industry recommendations by adopted the BIM process where feasible to help deliver smarter buildings to our clients.

Key Benefits

  • A LIFE-CYCLE PROCESS

BIM has been developed to reduce waste, cost and improve efficiency and it is for these reasons Redstone has adopted the process.

  • INCLUDES A SOFT LANDING APPROACH

Our approach incorporates change management strategies for a smooth transition to new environments, technology and work processes.

  • BUILT ON OPEN STANDARDS

BIM enables our clients to take advantage of the wider industry knowledge, experience and standards and move towards the digital building.

  • AN EVOLUTION THAT AIDS COLLABORATION AND EFFICIENCY

As BIM approaches Level 3 of life-cycle management, interoperability of data creates greater collaboration and mitigates risk.

  • ENABLED THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

It is the close association between digital / smart technologies and BIM that lead to benefits to our clients.
